Spring BioBlitz! 2022

BioBlitz! OK is a celebration of Oklahoma’s biodiversity. In 2022, we are celebrating every season! Join us in Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall to count as many species as possible using community science! 100s of people will explore the mountains and grasslands, forests and wetlands looking for our state’s amazing biodiversity.

Count Species for the Inventory!

Being part of BioBlitz! OK means you will become a community scientist!  As a scientist, you will contribute data to our BioBlitz! OK inventory through the iNaturalist and eBird

Use iNaturalist for all species that you have a photograph for or a sound recording. For bird observations we encourage you to use eBird because it doesn’t require you to submit a photograph or audio file.

Redbud Buddies

Join our community science project to record life cycle data on our state tree, the Eastern Redbud! Data can easily be recorded via an app or on the BudBurst website.

BioBitz

BioBitz are small, in-person activities that will be held at parks across the state during BioBlitz! weekend.

Click the SIGN UP link next to the activity that you are interested in. That will pop up an email to the activity leader. Please let them know which activity and what time you want to attend.  After you sign up, the leader will email you details on the exact time and location for the activity.

Spring drew on…and a greenness grew over those brown beds, which, freshening daily, suggested the thought that Hope traversed them at night, and left each morning brighter traces of her steps.
